Avoid the crowds.

I've often been disappointed in the typical tourist destinations in Japan. Long lines, loud travellers, and overwhelming hoards of people can be frustrating especially after spending so much time and money planning your trip.

That’s why I’ve created the travel guide that I would’ve LOVED to have when I first arrived in Japan. In most of the places I found, I was the only foreigner there.

Finding authentic, off-the-beaten-path experiences is one of the best ways to explore any country, but it’s always difficult. Hannah’s guide, however, is an approachable, comprehensive collection of unconventional locations from a true local. Highly recommended! Especially if you love the outdoors.

Advice you can trust.

This guide was written by youtuber and content creator, Currently Hannah (aka me). I’ve been living in Japan for over 8 years now - for a lot of that time working in tourism. I’ve been travelling around Japan with public transport and with my Jeep, exploring, camping, swimming and hiking for multiple years. I’ve uncovered some of the most unbelievable locations, never before seen on youtube or social media.

By far, the most asked questions I get are “Where is this?” “What’s the location?” and “How did you find this place?” This is the first time that all of my travel advice and locations have been compiled together in one place. Now they can be all yours!

Who is this guide not for?

There’s a reason that tourists don’t often venture to the places in this guide - because they’re far away! This guide is for people who want to explore, adventure and truly go further than most people are willing to go. If you’re the kind of person who goes on holidays to relax at the hotel, chill out at cafes and walk amongst the city, this guide might not be for you. If you love adventure, new experiences, hiking and the outdoors then look no further. Very few Japan travel guides will cater to people like us!

Not only is this guide exceptionally beautiful and packed with detailed information and research, it’s perfect for off-the-beaten-track locations that you wouldn’t have known about otherwise. I can’t wait to rent a car and start exploring.
